Terminal opens at log in.

Why does the terminal app open at startup and appear on my dock? I have read that a recently downloaded app could be opening it as a "auxiliary" tool...or something to that effect. What steps can I take so correct this? Thank you.

iMac 27″, macOS 10.15

Check your login items in System Preferences - Users & Groups - Click the your user account and check the login items.
