Watch app: Mirror alerts missing apps

I’ve recently bought and set up an Apple Watch SE, and the problem I have is that not all my apps appear under the “Mirror IPhone alerts from” section. Apps like GMail, Telegram and WhatsApp are missing even though I’ve seen people online with those apps under this setting. Reinstalling apps don’t change anything.

Does anyone have any idea how to fix this ?

I figured it out. It seems that apps only appear in the list to mirror notifications if you either have “Banners” or “Lock Screen” selected under notifications. If you only select “Notification Center”, the apps DISAPPEAR from the list !! To me this is a bug, as this impacts privacy, and I should also get a notification if only “Notification Center” is selected. I hope this is fixed in some version of iOS or WatchOS.

Hey MrIsamu,

Sounds like you're not seeing the option to manage notifications for a couple of apps on your Apple Watch. We'll do all we can to help.

To start, we can confirm that these apps should appear here as well. If you're not seeing them, be sure that both your Apple Watch and iPhone are fully updated to the latest software:

Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Update your Apple Watch

If you continue to have issues afterward, also be sure to restart both devices. If all else fails though, unpair your Apple Watch from your iPhone and set it back up again using the steps found below:

Unpair and erase your Apple Watch

Set up your Apple Watch

We hope this information helps out!

Take care.

Dear Apple,

For what it's worth, I do not consider this a solution at all. It is a workaround. Yes, it solves the problem of apps not appearing in the Watch app's notification list, but it creates an arguably even bigger problem by forcing notifications to be enabled on the phone when I don't want them enabled there. If this design is intentional, I don't like it. It should be possible to configure alerts on the watch independently from alerts on the phone. Please submit a bug report or enhancement request or whatever terminology Apple uses for this kind of thing.

Many thanks to MrIsamu for not only figuring out what the problem is but also for taking the time to post the details here so the rest of us can benefit. This was extremely helpful.

Regards,

Tom.III
