USB 3.0 Transfer speeds are slow after updating to Catalina

After updating to Catalina, I noticed the USB 3.0 slots on my mid 2015 MBP is running at much slower speed than before. With the same USB thumb drive, I'm getting 4 MB/s speed transferring a 1G file, way under than the theoretical 5 Gbps ceiling. The same drive on my Ubuntu machine with USB 3.0 is happily running above 280 MB/s.

I can see the USB 3.0 controller has been installed without an issue on my MBP. Not sure if anyone was able to resolve this. At this point, it seems one can only reinstall Mojave (or earlier version) as a possible solution.
