Unable to edit numbers on my ipad3

This has only happened recently.

iPad, iPadOS 13

The "edit" button didn't show up on Numbers at first.

I tapped on Numbers in my iPad, it loaded, then I opened the spreadsheet in question and "voila" it showed the "edit" button.

Many thanks for your help, much appreciated.

What’s happening? If you receive an error message, what does it say?

What device is this happening with? Which software version?

Are you able to reproduce the issue? What actions do you take to reproduce it?

The more information you provide, the better chance the community will be able to offer some additional guidance.

If this issue has only recently occurred, be ware that the Apple Numbers, Pages and Keynote Apps have been updated with a new feature...


When opened, documents now load in a read only mode. To switch to editing mode, simply tap the “Edit” button at top-right of the screen.


This is hopefully the difficulty that you have encountered. If this is not the issue, please let us know.
