Mac mini m1 resolution drops when I rotate to 90 degree

Hey guys. My Mac mini m1 chips just arrived.

I usually use two monitor, one with QHD and one with FHD. For QHD monitor, it works fine.

However, for FHD monitor, it is pivot monitor, so I rotate to 90 degree.

However, when I rotate, the resolution drops.

No rotation

with 90 degree rotation

Do you guys have any idea why the resolution drops??

If you do, do you know how to solve it?

Is the M1 Mac Mini on macOS version 11.0.1 or 11.1...?

  1. For starters, check/update the macOS from Big Sur 11.0.1 to the latest 11.1.
  2. Open the Display Preference, hold the Option (Alt) key and click on the Scaled button.
  3. Rotate the monitor to 270 degrees and see if that gives you the correct resolution for that monitor.
