Apple only allows Fitness+ streaming to Apple TV, which is why I won’t be subscribing once my free trial expires.
Apple, I just bought a new Smart TV with built-in Airplay and Apple TV+ service. Why should I spend an extra $150 on an Apple TV with the only benefit being the ability Airplay Fitness+ videos, a capability that is completely possible but specifically disabled by you. Feels an awful lot like extortion... just sayin’.

What Apple Watch do you have?
Yes, you need one. Apple Watch personalizes your Apple Fitness+ experience by integrating your personal metrics, like your heart rate and the calories you burn, into every workout. It brings them to life on the screen to keep you informed and motivated. To use Apple Fitness+ on your iPhone, iPad, or Apple TV, an Apple Watch Series 3 or later is required.
Apple Fitness+ is available in
I am using a Series 6 Apple Watch, iphone X with Screen Mirroring to my smart TV/Roku in the United States with the same issue. I can see everything on my TV through the 3, 2, 1 countdown then the screen goes black and only sound comes out. Previews work fine it is once I get to the workout. I then tried to do the workout using my phone screen but the sound was so off of the screen the cadence was completely off.
I feel exactly the same. I have a TV that has Apple TV. Why would I want to spend ANOTHER £150 on top of the money I’ve already spent on my phone and my watch. They then want to charge me £9.99 a month, extortion indeed. I guess I will stick with Les Mills or instructor Live.
Apple Watch 3 and 5
i feel the same way.
