Hi All
I am recently having issues with an external drive as in it is showing on my MacBook but when i click on the photos in the drive i get cannot access as being used by finder, but to my knowledge it isn't and when i drag them out to put onto desktop i get the message not found
any suggestions

It also does a basic check of your startup disk, similar to using First Aid in Disk Utility. Please check if the files on the external drive are actual photo files or just an alias/shortcut of the original file.
If these are original file and still not able to open/copy, try rebooting into safe mode and see if you have same issue.
ok not sure what you mean by actual photo files as they were the last time that i accessed them, what did you want to reboot into safe mode the external drive or the macbook
thanks so would that stop me seeing the photos on the external drive all i want to do is be able to access my photos on my external drive
