Apple Music Splits tracks and creates two entries for album

I recently began ripping some of my music CDs to the Apple Music app. For the most part this has been fairly easy, but I'm noticing that in some cases, Apple Music is creating two entries for a single CD, placing some of the tracks in one entry and the rest in another. Sometimes its split where 5 of 10 tracks are in one and the remainder go to a second entry. However, sometimes it's just one or two tracks. When I create the rip, though, it all seems OK...all the tracks are in ONE entry in the Library. But overnight, I opened the Music app this morning and there are several of these anomalies. What gives?

I'm having a similar problem. The CD is a compilation and it wasn't in Apple's database. I manually entered the title for the album, and then entered the individual track titles and artists. I left all the other fields that weren't already populated blank. Music split it into 2 albums, one containing tracks 3-13, and the other containing track 14. Tracks 1 and 2 don't show up unless I specifically search for the track names. I'll attach screen shots to demonstrate.

This is the album in the Finder. There are 14 tracks by 13 artists (tracks 7 and 8 are the same artist). You can see at the top of the window that the title is called "Dulcimer Players News 45_3 (Fall 2019). In Music, I entered the underscore as a colon, but in the filename, it was changed. I doubt that's the issue, though.

When I search for the album in Music, it shows 2 albums with the same name.

One has track 14; the other has tracks 3-13. No signs of tracks 1 and 2.

If I search Music for the name of track 1, it finds it.

If I click on the icon, it will play, but if click on the text, it shows me the album with only track 14.

Here's track info from tracks 1, 3, 4, and 14.

I've run into this problem on other (non-compilation) albums, too.

How can I consolidate this back into one album?

OK So this is interesting. I went to find the items in Finder and they all seem to be just fine. For instance, I have a CD for Britney Spears "In the Zone" in the collection that I ripped yesterday. In the Music.app it's showing up twice. The first instance has tracks 1-12 and the second has only track 13. However, when I view this in Finder, it shows up as ONE entry with all 13 tracks. So this seems to be a Music. app bug of some sort.

Thanks for that suggestion, but everything seems to be identical in the metadata for the songs, except for the track number. And what's more curious, is that when I ripped the CD yesterday, it only created the ONE instance. So something must have been corrupted when Music closed it's app. Not all CD's I ripped were affected however.
