Poor video performance using Logitech Brio 4k

Video performance using the Logitech Brio will from time to time drop to about 1 fps. Rebooting will fix the problem for a while, but it's not a permanent fix.

System logs show the following error, repeating as long as the camera is being accessed.

error	09:22:41.567286-0800	VDCAssistant	[guid:0x2110000046d085e] IsochStreamHandler Result: 0xe000400e
error	09:22:41.567296-0800	VDCAssistant	[guid:0x2110000046d085e] IsochStreamHandler Entire Transfer was too old (0xe000400e)
error	09:22:41.615623-0800	VDCAssistant	[guid:0x2110000046d085e] IsochStreamHandler: Discarding incomplete frame: Got 553200 bytes but frame should have 614400. bmHeaderInfo: 0x0c, Frame:Clock c130:00009efa

Unplugging and re-plugging the camera doesn't help, neither does killing and restarting the VDCAssistant process doesn't help.

Is there any way to further debug the problem?

The camera is plugged into an Anker USB 3.1 hub (5Gb/s), which is plugged directly into the MBP.
