Importing cd’s

I bought a cd awhile back and want to burn it into my Apple iTunes library. There are 4 songs that feature a guest artist. Out of the 12 songs on the disc it imports the 8 that don’t have a featured artist. Why is this? I spent money on the cd and it won’t let me import those 4 songs?

Hi Vinman

When you insert the cd in your computer it normally comes up with a dialog asking if you want to import the disc. Start by saying no, and then click on disc information. It should come up with a listing of the disc that it gets from the web (gracenotes most likely) Are all of the tracks showing? Are all of the tracks showing a check mark beside the track number? If so then hit the import button. To see if the whole disc is imported view the recently added tab in the left navigation menu. Your disc may show up as two because one is sorted by the main artist and the other(s) by featured artists. To combine them you could right click on the album and select show information. There is an option to select "compilation". Check that box on all the viewed versions and see if that consolidates all of the tracks onto one album. I have had cases where this eems to work only after doing it more than once. Sometimes most of the tracks consolidate but one stays separate. Repeating the save as a compilation useually works but sometimes you have to toggle everything between compilation and non compilation. Note that your album name must be identical if you want everything to appear as one album. Hope this helps.
