Safari making blank pdf files and printing

So I am trying to save a bunch of old bookmarks and articles on my 2019 MacBook, and I am trying to print them or otherwise make PDFs on Safari. However, all of a sudden, now it sometimes produces a blank document with only the URL and page numbers on the sheets when printing. I am not sure why it is, although it seems most often to be on Twitter. Is there anything that might be the case of this, or how to fix it?

Hello Rocketship01,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities. From your message it sounds like you have been unable to create a backup of your bookmarks.

This article shows you the steps to take to export bookmarks: Import bookmarks, history, and passwords from other browsers in Safari on Mac

You mentioned that you were trying to print websites, and some of them are a blank document. This page will show you the steps you are likely following: Print or create a PDF of a webpage in Safari on Mac. With the blank pages you'll want to check the advanced print settings: Choose advanced print settings on Mac. If you're still seeing blank pages, check with the individual websites to see if there is any information in their FAQ or from their support pages.

All the best.

Hi Rocketship01,

Thanks for clarifying that you're just wanting to print a PDF of the certain websites, and that the issue is occurring with Twitter and Esquire.

You've done a great job isolating the issue to only occurring on certain websites.

Based on this information the next thing you'll want to do is to look for a FAQ on the individual websites, which may include printing information or contact their customer support for additional help.

Take care.
