Cheapest, no hardware required from another Mac to the M1 Mini, I would first try the easiest - wireless - both computers on the same network.
Next is the Ethernet using a Thunderbolt to Ethernet adapter.
More expensive way is thru Thunderbolt using a TB cable and TB3-TB2 adapter from Apple.
I used a TB adapter and cable to transfer quickly from a 2012 Mac Mini to 2020 M1 Mini.
