How to download Big Sur if I already updated my Mac

I need to make a bootable installer with Big Sur - following this article https://support.apple.com/en-ca/HT201372

However, I already updated to Big Sur and now I can no longer download the installer to create the bootable USB stick.

How can I force AppStore to download the Big Sur installer?

If I follow the link to the AppStore and click "Get" it just opens System Preferences and nothing happens. The "Get" button does not transform into "Download".

So I'm searching for way to force the download somehow.

Verify the window is not getting hidden behind some other open window(s) on your Desktop, when you click "Get"

it is a free floating box.

Four finger swipe up on the trackpad typically shows open windows for that Desktop.

I'm not sure that is helpful. I've been doing my research, and yes - of course we are only on here because we have a problem, but Big Sur is widely reported as problematic. I don't live on the community, and don't live to fix problems. I'm not a developer, and I still believe that buying and operating a laptop shouldn't require that I have high level developer skills. Every problem I've experienced with Big Sur I've researched and many are unfixable for those who do not have developer skills. Big Sur 11.2 should be ready in a few months, and my point was.... why not wait. Sorry if that offends.
