Nikon NEF files do not display in Photo, either on my iPad Pro or on my iMac. Both are running up-to-date software. Is anyone else having this problem? This is a known issue? It’s a major problem because I would like to be able to edit on both platforms, and the website states Photos does support these files for the z7 camera. However that’s not how it actually works…

While you wait for cameras to be supported, the only workaround is to covert your raw files to DNG (also raw) using Adobe's free converter.
There is no loss of data, the DNG still holds an exact copy of your raw data.

The z7 and the z7 II are not the same camera and you'll need to wait for Apple to add raw support for the z7 II. The z7 is supported.
Correct, it's the same issue.
I just got the Z6ii and I think I'm having the same issue. 600 below average photos to test and I cannot see them in both photos, Preview or image capture.
