Apple support told me that none of their current adapters are compatible with the ipod classic but as you and others seem to say and know otherwise. If you've physically tried it out and have experience that it works then would definitely trust you over them.

Part of the problem here I suspect is lack of documentation. Apple have retired much of the documentation that applied to the iPod classic. If Apple don't make a positive claim that this charger supports that device then it isn't perhaps surprising if support or fellow users hedge their bets.

Yes I understand what you're saying and where your coming from.
It's ridiculous that the classic is vintage and no longer supported.
Just because they don't sell it doesn't mean they shouldn't support it.
Just got today in the post an apple A1399 5w USB adapter but it doesn't have the apple logo on it?
Also it says on it Emerson Network Power & never heard of them before , the seller guaranteed it's genuine?
