Thank you Eric. I added the border as per the document you sent me. In reality this is putting an object over the top of the graph, making it transparent and changing the style. This introduces a simple issue that to modify the graph, eg change the Y axis scale, you have to move the border object to amend the graph and then put the border object back in place when finished. There used to be a simple toggle in one of the menus that would switch on the border.
I am guessing the iPad version of Numbers is a cut down version of the Mac version and graph gridlines colours and other features have been removed for the iPad version. I will do some more research and then reach out to Apple with some suggestions.
once again, thank you for your help.

ScruffyJohn,
Thanks for clarifying that for us.
Let's give this resource a look instead: Change the look of bars, wedges, and more in Numbers on iPad
If this still doesn't cover what you're looking to do, reach out to Apple Support directly at this link here: Get Support - Apple
From that link choose Music, Apps & Services > iOS apps > Numbers for iOS. From there you should see a few options to reach out, depending on your location.
Have a great day!
Hi Eric. Thanks for the response however my question relates to a graph that resides on a sheet. I want to put a border around the whole graph, including the Axes names, title etc. I also want to change the colour of the gridlines in the graph. Thus I am not talking about a table so the link you provided seems irrelevant to me.
I think Apple have changed the Numbers App and removed the actions I want as it could be done with past versions of the product.
