MacBook Air Force quit. What happens?

I force quit iMessage on M1 MacBook Air and it just won’t open again and it won’t let me shut down.

What do I do if there is no power off button?

Try these steps:

MacBook Air Magic Keyboard with Touch ID - Apple Support states To turn off your MacBook Air, choose Apple menu > Shut Down

2. How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support states Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds as your Mac starts up
