i forgot my password of my Apple Watch and I’ve a new phone so I can’t connect them and I’ve followed the instructions by pressing the button on the side till the sign of switch of comes on and then press the crown button but nothing happens

Apple Watch keeps unpairing during initial set up I just purchased a new Apple watch series 8 and began to pair it with my iPhone 12. I got past where it is paired and I tell it which wrist I wear the watch on, and it began doing something else that would take a few minutes and then it starts to unpair. Watch is locked, and I can’t unlock it My watch seemed to be stuck on the clock face. when I tried to sort it out via settings on my I phone. it has been locked, could the battery be knackered?
