How to add widgets to the desktop in Big Sur?

The Desktop implementation of widgets, otherwise known as Dashboard was removed in macOS Catalina. Widgets are now only available in the Notifications panel, and fewer than were present in the old Dashboard.

Not able to add desktop widgets in macOS I am running macOS Ventura version 13.6 on my MacBook Pro M1 and wanted to add some widgets to my desktop. If I right-click on the desktop, however, I do not see the option 'Edit widgets'. Trying to add desktop widgets from the Notification Center does not work either. Anybody any suggestions? Thanks!

Widgets are missing after Big Sur upgrade I had widgets at the right side of my screen: foreign exchange, calculator, etc. After upgrading to Big Sur they're gone. Why does an upgrade mean figuring out all over again how to get these into widgets? The same thing happened last year.

Cannot Pin Widget to Desktop I am running the latest version on Ventura. I cannot pin widget to my desktop. When I right click on my desktop, the widget option is not present. When I try to move widgets to my desktop from the widget library, they don't stay. Nor can I do it by clicking on the time and trying to pull them over. Does anyone have any ideas?

Widgets don't go on the Desktop. They are in the Notification Center.

You can't always get what you need even if you try sometimes.
