My iPad is is disabled and says to connect to iTunes. However, the only apple device I own is the locked iPad.

If your iPad is disabled, or you have forgotten your iPad passcode, you’ll need to follow this process:

You’ll need access to either a PC (with iTunes installed) or a Mac (with iTunes or Finder - as appropriate for the installed version of MacOS). If your iPad fails to be recognised by your computer when connected, this support page may be helpful with troubleshooting:

Unless you AppleID account has not been fully/correctly configured, or has been seriously neglected, recovery of the AppleID and password should not be difficult.

When you recover access to your credentials, you would be well advised to log-in to your AppleID account from a web browser - and verify/update any email addresses and trusted telephone numbers:

Use the same cable you use for charging the iPad. If connected to a charging brick, unplug it. Connect the lightning part (the smaller port) into the iPad and the larger, USB-A into your PC laptop. You just connected your iPad to your PC laptop. Woohoo!

I downloaded iTunes onto my Dell Laptop, but got stuck there. I read somewhere to connect my iPad to it. I am clueless on how to even do that.
