Bluetooth "not available" Catalina Macbook 2015

Hi there, I read many threads about this so I apologise for being repetitive. Fact is it seems none of the suggestions solved my issue.

My Bluetooth seems to be available for a few seconds every now and then, but it never actually is and after a moment of doubt it gives a "bluetooth not available" and piggy saggy line on the icon.

I tried debugging, resetting pram and smc, checking the diagnostics (no hardware issue apparently), deleting the com.bluetooth.plist file, swearing, dancing and lighting candles to the Virgin Mary, but none seem to work. Any suggestion?

Possible there is a bluetooth targeted virus? I'm asking cause I've seen a couple of strangely named devices among the registered ones in my preferences, in one of the few occasions in which I was granted access to the list (generally it gets stuck)

Much much obliged for your time

Hi there Girolamo80,

Thank you for posting! As we understand it, you're seeing that Bluetooth is unavailable and you've tried some troubleshooting already. That's definitely an important issue to look into and we would like to see if we can help.

Under Apple menu () > About This Mac > System Report > Bluetooth, do you see any messages there that state the hardware is unavailable, or anything to that effect?

If you don't see any such alerts there, we recommend creating a temporary administrator account on your Mac and then signing in there to see if you can replicate this issue. The results of this will tell you if you have a system-wide issue, or one that is user-specific. Here's how to Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac.

Let us know what you find. Have a good day.
