My Canon ImageClass 420 is unsupported after 11.01. I just updated to Big Sur 11.1 and not get only blank pages. Spoke with both Apple and Canon support. Do I have to pitch this printer or are there other options?

For the ImageClass D420, I see imageCapture (ICA) and other driver support released by Canon in Dec 2020 for macOS 11. Did you install these drivers? With the device powered and connected, and in System Preferences : Printers & Scanners panel, did you right-click on your device entry and choose Reset printing system… ? This would allow you to re-add the D420 and the newly installed Canon drivers selected. These are not automatically recognized without this re-add procedure.

It's a miracle! I'm up and running again. I restarted the computer and that seemed to do the trick. Thank you SO much.
THANK you for your help. I did install the 11.01, but did not do the extra step you describe. I am using a MacBook Air, and do not know how to 'right click' on a mousepad. Can you clarify that part? Something that I accessed after installing the new driver mentioned the driver for 10.9, which didn't look promising. You are definitely doing your good deed for the day.
You are welcome. WIth a trackpad you can enable a two-finger tap in the trackpad preferences panel, or use a control-tap on the trackpad to get at the secondary menu.
