Admin pw not recoginized in BigSur

I have a 2020 MacBook Air which I upgraded to Big Sur and now I can't unlock Security and Privacy. I changed my password and that did not help. I also have a separate login user and tried it there and it didn't work. Is this a BigSur bug?

Admin Password is wrong So I have had 2 of the same MacBooks. The first one I had no problems, but my current one has a lot of problems. The main one is the admin password not working. When I try to type it to unlock security preferences, it says it's wrong. I'm sure its right because I can log in fine with that password, and the admin password works in other preferences. I really need to update some settings but it just doesn't work.

Administrative passwords issues I’m the administrative user on my MAC, but since upgrading to Big Sur, I’ve had issues changing my preference security settings because my administrative password no longer works. I’ve reset the password many times and it continues to display “incorrect password”. I’m able to log into my MAC just fine, but unable to access or change my security settings due to the incorrect password. Is this a bug? Is there a solution to setting the administrative password?

Admin password My admin password works to unlock my macbook pro. But it won't work to unlock anything in the "system preferences" for example anything in "security and preferences". I am running Big Sur 11.1. Thank you
