New iPad Space Gray - pin hole scuffs/chips on back cover

Got a new iPad 8th/space gray. Looks beautiful and works well. Out of the box, on the back, there were 2 pin hole sized scuffs or chips - it's as if the top coat did not take or was chipped. These are pin hole sized scuffs and feel rough (as if top coat is off).

Would appreciate any comments. The unit works well and looks good otherwise. Guess I'm worried about the scuffs getting bigger?
