When I connect my phone to my IMAC it keeps telling me I need a software update. I checkon my phone (X) and it tells me software is up to date. Check on the IMAC, It tells the update has a compatibility problem?

If so, all it does is apply a small patch to iTunes so it can continue to work as before in managing iPad and iPhones that have been upgraded to iOS 14 or iPadOS 14. It does not change your operating system or anything other than iTunes.
I have applied that patch to both on my mainstream Macs and nothing changes other tah again being able to manage four iPads as before with no issues whatsoever.. I found it safe.
My system says the is a incompatible software update ??
