Adjust column sizing in Notes tables on Mac

I have read that you cannot adjust the column width for tables in notes, which is unfortunate, but I have also read that typing in a field will 'auto expand' the column. This is not working for me as can be seen by the attached screenshot. Are there any other settings I'm missing?

notes tables I'm crazy about Notes and I use tables in a few notes. Unfortunately I'm still using High Sierra, but I presume that I cannot resize columns, that is... I cannot have tables with columns of different width... Am I right? Something new if I upgrade to newer OSes? Thanks

Removing indent after bullet points I am trying to take notes for University class on the Mac notes app. When I make bullet points obviously it idents the page a bit and you can further indent with following subordinate points. However, when I want to go back to the left of the page to start a new topic I can figure out how to get rid of the indent. I try to hit backspace and it just brings me back to the end of the last line. I've tried looking online to troubleshoot and haven't found anything. I attached a screenshot, the red is where I want the text to start.
