Adding Temporary Phone Number for Calls and Texts to iPhone

Hello Team, wondering if you've had success adding a temporary line to your iPhone. It does not appear Verizon can do this with my iPhone 12 Pro Max. I see many apps on the App Store. Wondering if anyone has a recommendation.

I want to call and text from my iPhone but not give out my Verizon phone number.
