IPAD no longer recognises keyboard accessory

whilst this has happened intermittently over a couple of years, my ipad now does not recognise the keypad at all and so i cannot use it

any new tips on what to do in this circumstance?

Are you using an Apple Smart (folio) keyboard?


The typical failure mode of these keyboards, should this occur, is fracture of the electrical connections that pass though the flexible fabric hinges of the keyboard - this often being accompanied by an on-screen notification of an unsupported accessory.


The Smart folio keyboard is not repairable. If faulty, the only remedy is replacement of the keyboard.
