iCloud says not enough storage but there is

*I wanted to comment on the thread I found of other people having the iCloud storage issue, but the thread is closed.*

I had the issue where I went to backup my iPhone to iCloud, only to get a message pop up and say there is no more space left. When I checked tho, it said 1gb of 5gb used.

After contacting support, I learned that they changed where items are in the backup menu. Example: you need to go into settings > [your name] > iCloud > manage storage > backups > this iPhone. Wait for it to load and you will see that all the games and apps are now in here. The backup size was 11gb! I did not want my games to be backed up, so I disabled those and it can now backup properly.

The option to back up your games used to be on the main backup page and was easier to understand how much space each app was using. With the new software updates they changed where it is.

I hope this helps anyone else who has the same issue both myself and my boyfriend had.
