Migration from late 2011 MBP new M1 MBP

My old MBP does not have a thunderbolt port (USB-C), but it has USB-A and

Ethernet ports. Can I perform the migration to my new Mac with a USB-A to USB-C cable, or is best to use an Ethernet cable with an ethernet to USB-C adapter? I don’t want to use WiFi.

Migration Assistant looks simple to use, but I’ve read several things about additional steps needed to really get your new Mac the way you want. Any tips on getting a successful and complete migration?

Migration from MacBook 12" to MacBook Pro 14" (Intel to M1 apps) Hi All, What's the best way to ensure a smooth migration of environment (user profiles, data, settings, etc.) from an Intel-based MacBook 12", to an M1-based MacBook Pro 14" ? Would you envisage I do this: Create a temporary admin user on the MBP 14" Install all M1-optimised apps on the MBP 14" Connect the two devices (via Ethernet, for example) and run Migration Assistant to migrate everything except the apps from the MB 12" to the MBP 14" (I don't know if this is even possible ?) How have you managed to have everything working well as part of the transition from Intel to M1 ? Thank you for your inputs.

Migration of MacBook Air Sierra to MacBook Air Big Sur My wife's old MacBook Air (one of the very first 11 inch Air) running Sierra is being replaced with a much newer MacBook Air running Big Sur. I have tried to migrate using WiFi --they (I don't know which one) keep dropping the connection. Can I use an USB cable to connect them? Is there actually a USB cable with two male ends?
