Unable to delete corrupt files from desktop - Big Sur

I have a couple files on my desktop that got corrupted somehow months ago, I can't delete them, edit them, move them to another folder or open them. they have no preview or anything. just the original name and file extension. as if they are some sort of shadow of the previously stored file.

I think this corruption happened during a canceled iCloud backup.

Every once in a while i try to remove them, just for the fun of it.... I recently upgraded to Big Sur and now I tried again and it's the same deal. they just sit on my desktop as empty icons.

Did anyone encounter something like this?

I will not format my drive to remove them. that's an overkill for me, but if there's a workaround I will be very happy to find it.

Thanks,
