Returning a replacement phone and keep my old phone
What is the process if I want to keep and repair my current phone and return the new replacement phone recently sent?

I don't believe there is a defined process for that.
You'll have to get in touch with the Apple Store, Authorized or reseller that is operating your request and ask them if they can do that and how would it be done.
