Device Trade-in Payment Not Received

I bought a 12 Pro from Apple because it offered a higher trade-in value than my carrier. I sent the device back via FedEx in the provided box over a week ago and have still received no confirmation and no payment.


This is even more frustrating because Apple messed up my order and wrongly advised me on additional “necessary” products.


I want my money on the phone I sent in, and I don’t want to sit on hold for an hour to receive an answer.

we do not work for Apple, so demanding money from us will not help. We also do not have access to accounts.


I'd suggest you find out if the phone has been received using the tracking number. Were you told that you would get cash, a gift card or ? In any case, the payment would not be instantaneous. It would take time to process the return, examine the device and then process a payment.

I received the credit, for the iPhone 11 I returned, as soon as Apple received the phone. FedEx delivered my returned iPhone, in 2 days from my dropping it off to them. Apple notified me, and credited my card, the day they received it. I was extremely surprised the whole process was as fast and easy as it was. If I were in your shoes I would call apple and get them to verify they received your phone and where in Apples process, is your phone. I know Apple states in returning devices that they will check the phone for external damage before refunding the money for the device. If they find external dammage on the phone they will not refund the money. I’d call or text chat with apple.

We recently traded-in two phones. According to tracking, it took Fedex 6 days to deliver them from the time we dropped off the boxes at the Fedex store. We have not yet seen the credit but it has only been two days since they received the trade-in devices. Last time we did a trade in, Apple was pretty quick with getting us our money but it was not instantaneous.
