problem with starting MacBook Pro (2020) with Big Sur

It is not starting in proper way from time to time. It shows login screen and let me login and after on it shows desktop wallpaper, dock and mouse cursor but i can not do anything except moving mous pointer. It happens once or twice a day after I turn off MacBook Pro for a few hours and start it again.

Hi ArtoorS,

It sounds like you're having trouble starting your Mac and we can help.

Try following the steps for starting to safe mode and see if that helps you isolate the issue:

How to use safe mode on your Mac

If you disable your login items and the issue goes away, it could be that one of them is encountering an error and should be removed or reinstalled.

Best of luck.

hi ArtoorS,

i see that you removed Eset antivirus and the issues you were having have stopped. to me, that's not surprising. many times the removal of antivirus programs solve issues. i would not recommend trying to find a replacement. antivirus apps on a mac are completely not necessary, and very often cause more problems while not providing any benefit. apple has it's own protection built in. if you are concerned with security, i recommend you read Effective defenses against malware and other threats. it's a long read, but it's worth reading every word.

Hi Jeffreythefrog,

apart from the fact that at first glance, the article sounds like Apple's marketing, its substantive part is actually interesting and worth reading. It's true that some of my habits are ingrained in PCs, but I have one question. When working in a MAC / PC environment, is it worth having an antivirus program just so that my Mac does not serve as a "hub" of PC virus distribution? Either way, it is true that only prudence and thought give the highest level of data protection in our time.

Brgds,

Artur
