MacBook Air stuck after Big Sur update

Hi everyone , recently my mac was gone for repairing after which i got high sierra version installed . Yesterday i got mojave update and today Big sur . I updated to big sur and my mac is not starting . After it went to restart , the progress bar reached 100% 3 times so i shut down my mac and started it again . I started it and it took me to the password entering screen . It was bugged . The cursor was blinking out of the password entering bar . I entered the password , the progress bar went till 50% and then it suddenly showed me the startup screen (apple logo one) . Same issue persists i have tried 4 times . One time it took me to setting up my mac as it takes us when we buy a brand new mac , enter all the details . So i shut it down again . I am not able to do the NVRAM reset as when i try to do , the chime rings and a white screen flashes for a millisecond and nothing happens .

pls help , i am not able to start my mac at all!!!

Apps are missing - where they installed on the Desktop or in the Applications folder where they should have been.

Add your Desktop and Documents files to iCloud Drive

Laggy - the computer was just now upGraded from Mojave to Big Sur. That is a Major Leap to a new OS. It is expected the Spotlight is indexing the entire drive and will for some time depending on how much Data was on the drive before it was upGraded. Suggest keep the computer plugged in for a day or so. It will eventually finish indexing and will be more responsive
