Which one is a better option for students? Macbook air or pro?

Unless you need to run Windows on your Mac, I strongly recommend looking at the new M1 MacBook Air (or Pro). They completely destroy previous Intel models in terms of efficiency and performance.

Both the M1 MacBook Air and Pro use the same chip (Apple M1), but still have a few differences listed below. The Pro would technically be the more powerful machine, but I think the Air would be a better deal.

Air:

• No fan - completely silent
• Function keys (no Touch Bar), includes Touch ID
• Starts at 7 core GPU
• Up to 18 hours of battery life
• Starts at $1000 USD

Pro:

• Has fan, can run more intensive tasks longer
• Has Touch Bar with physical ESC key, includes Touch ID
• Has 8-core GPU
• Up to 20 hours of battery life
• Starts at $1300 USD

Either will do. It will really depend on your computing goals, the apps you need to run, and your budget.
