Thank you, Rafael,
I am ordering another new one for myself, after buying one for a relative, as a Christmas gift.
I will pay to upgrade it now, when I order it.
Still debating about upgrading the 512 SSD storage, or not.
Ken
Great! That's a pretty good Mac and you'll enjoy it very much.
Not for that.

Enjoy! 😊
It can't be done. RAM chips are soldered to the logic board.
It is possible to upgrade them in the purchase. Once manufactured, it can't be upgraded later.
I think 512 is also a good update. You won't regret.
MBA M1 16GB RAM 512GB is a pretty solid machine, you'll love it.
512GB is now standard and no longer an upgrade, anymore.
I'm not sure I would ever make use of more than that, so I may not spend the extra $200.00 to upgrade to 1TB SSD storage.
Correction:
I have already chosen the option of the 512GB. I'm thinking that it will be plenty, for me.
Thank you again for sharing your knowledge and perspective with me, Rafael!
