Using Mac conected to power adapter

The Mac can be damaged if I use it connected to the power adapter??

I have always used mine frequently while connected to the power adapter but also occasionally while not. The latest macOS Big Sur also includes a feature where it will stop charging and let the battery go down to 80% and then maintain it at that level if it senses that it is primarily run while plugged in, if you have Manage Battery Longevity turned on.
