Lost contacts and Text message history

2 issues - first is deleted text history and second is deleted contacts (and some are now in triplicate after installing. The update). Anyone know how or why this would happen and how to restore the history? Tried turning messages on and off then installed the update - no luck but it did delete some of my contacts, including my minor daughter who’s. Intact was completely set up with photo and she is also family sharing. Now there’s just her number in my favorites list and elsewhere in messages it changed her picture and says “maybe (her name).

It sounds like you are experiencing issues with missing contacts and text messages. We understand how important this is to you and we are here to help.

First, we can start off with your contacts. Are you syncing your contacts with more than one account? If so, are all of your accounts active? This article may help: Use other contact accounts on iPhone

If multiple accounts are used, and some get disabled, you will notice contacts are missing until it is enabled again. To prevent this, we would recommend trying to sync all contacts with one account.

Next, let's analyze your messages. If you were syncing your messages with iCloud and messages get deleted, you will not be able to retrieve those messages. If you are not syncing your messages with iCloud, you can restore to an earlier backup using this article: Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup

Keep in mind, any messages between the last backup and when you restore will be deleted.
