my daughter forgot the password to her iphone XS Max and i tried the recovery process but it is not working so if you can kindly help me i would appreciate it

one has to connect a cable with the iphones ligthingbolt connector in one end and a usb connector for ones computer in the other end and use itunes (new macs need finder insted) to restore it

i tried the recovery process to turn off the passcode and does the recovery process need a specific charger wire
