Ok. Make sure both are up to date and on the same network. Try Apple TV on ethernet. Reboot both devices.

I have not been able to control Apple TV from my iphone brand phone for the last 5-6 months. While screen mirroring, he sees apple tv on the network. But when I want to check I can't find the apple tv.
