Question on purchase options for the Apple Watch Series 6

I am looking at getting the gold aluminium face but wanted a nike sports strap and wondered if anyone could tell me why I can't pair the two options together? Thanks.

Because Apple only offers certain combinations as stock items. For anything outside the stock combinations you would need to purchase the non standard strap as an accessory.
