Text displays wrong senders name

I send a text and it displays as another on the persons phone I text. Removed the name that displays from contacts and reentered the persons contact information with an abbreviated shelter name and no luck. Powered on and off my phone. ?

iPhone 8 Plus, iOS 14

When you send a text, what the other person sees has nothing to do with your phone. What displays on their device is what is listed for that phone number on their device. Only other possible thing is if you have your setting for sharing your name and photo turned on in Settings>Messages. At that point, it will use information from your contact card on your iPhone.
