Save a compressed file from an external drive to another external drive

I saw the post regarding saving a compressed file to the desktop but I really need info on how to save a compressed file from external hard drive to another hard drive. Any info is greatly appreciated.

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2012)

Mac OS Catalina 10.15.7

Just drag and drop the file to the other hard drive.
