Old Apple ID hasn’t completely deleted?

I deleted my Apple ID almost two weeks ago and it said that it could take up to seven days to finalize. It’s been long past that mark and now i just get pop-up notifications to “sign in to my Apple ID” throughout the day. App store does not work. iMessage still works. I still have everything nothings been reset or deleted yet. I’ve created a new Apple ID through the Apple website that’s ready to use but I don’t know how to completely remove my old ID from my phone. I’ve heard that I need to remove everything that was associated with my old ID first but I’m confused by that, what does that mean specifically??

You may not be able to log out of the deleted ID. From the article below.

  • Make sure that you sign out of all your devices to avoid issues with apps that use your Apple ID account or iCloud. After your account is deleted, you can't sign out of iCloud or turn off Find My iPhone Activation Lock on your devices. If you forget to sign out, you might not be able to use your device when your account is deleted.
