Logitech C922 vs. Big-Sur...

Hi.

I recently got an M1 MacMini and a Logitech C922 webcam to compliment the setup.

I've raised a ticket or two with both Apple and Logitech. I just received a response from Logitech this morning which has left a lot to be desired:

Dear customer,

Thank you for writing to us. Please accept my sincere apology for delay response.

I would like to inform you that C922 is not compatible with macOS big sur as it will not work with big sur. I apologizes for the inconvenience.

Once again, Thank you for choosing Logitech. "

FAIL on so many levels.

But does the collective have any more helpful insights? Or are we destined to never have supportability between Logitech C922 and macOS?

What webcams are compatible with Big-Sur?

Thanks.

I got my M1 mini very recently and i paired it to with a logitech C922 just (5days ago), it works very nicely ( i do not know if it is working at 1080p or 720p and tbh I dont care) it work just fine gives me a smooth webcam stream and i use it for hours at a stretch minimum 2 hrs for sure with no problems at all.

only one issue. As soon as the face time call ends it becomes super laggy probably 1 FPS , but now if i Start another Facetime call or my computer has restarted. it starts to function perfectly again. Bit of a weird issue but it does its job.

I am surprised why Logitech send you tht kind of a reply.

Just purchased a Logitech C922 Pro HD Stream Webcam (I live in the US and purchased the webcam from Staples). The LED activity lights did not come on when I plugged-in the webcam to my laptop - Macbook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, early 2015, model A1502) - running Big Sur 11.2.

However, Zoom listed "C922 Prostream Webcam" as an option for both the camera and the microphone in the preferences. Laptop lid was closed, so the picture was definitely coming from the C922. Tried it out with a quick Zoom with a friend and it worked fine. I'm using Zoom Version: 5.5.0 (12467.0131) connected to an institutional account through my university.

The C922 is working fine with OBS Studio 26.1.2 as well.

I downloaded no additional Logitech software, these are my results right out of the box.

I have a Logitech C920 Pro HD camera and it works with FaceTime and Photobooth on an M1 mini running macOS 11.1. I do not use any other social video (Zoom, Teams, etc.) solution, though I have seen reports that the C920 Pro works with Zoom when the C922 did not.

I see Logitech shows macOS 10.10 (released Fall 2014) or later in their specifications for the C922 webcam, and that leaves six years of doubt exactly which subsequent macOS versions where it functions as advertised.
