iPad Air 4 intermittent screen ‘freeze’?

Seems I’m experiencing a similar problem I had on my previous Air 3: intermittent and irritating screen ‘freeze’ or locking up?

It has the latest 14.3 update but still occurs maybe 3/4 times through a day - a Google/Safari page can stop scrolling or stall; unable to ‘flip’ it up to access another App, or it seems to magnify when I can partially scroll. Games that require sliding, such as Candy Crush, freeze when moving items, and I have to click the home button and literally go back to the game via Home Screen. Google maps is rare, but also decides to stay in one location!

Done the reset, iOS is current, so looking for any ideas/solutions.

I initially thought it was the screen protector, but it’s an ultra thin one for better pencil response...surely can’t be that!?
