Keeping my MacBook Pro(M1) and Mini(M1) in synch

Is there a way to change any data (word processing, saved files, audio recordings, LogixPro files, etc.) on one mac and have the other (that shares my Apple ID) get updated automatically? Must I wire and migrate every day? What if I forget upon which hardware I initially made changes? What if I do it backwards, and erase work I had done?!? Is the only way to do this with a TimeMachine?

Mac mini 2018 or later
