Ipad 8th Gen drops wifi connection every 5-6 minutes

Hi


I bought my son an ipad 8th generation for xmas but every 5-6 minutes the connection drops off and it freezes and I have to close all screens and re-open them and this issue is now becoming a pain.


I have other similar devices at home ie laptops, macbooks, tablets and this does not happen to any of them, I have tried all of the suggestions have read but nothing is helping. It is now getting to the point where no one wants to use it as it is more of a hindrance as you lose what you were doing or looking at when it happens


what can the issue be?

To begin, go through the steps here: If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won’t connect to a Wi-Fi network

Note that it recommends restarting your devices, including router and modem. Even though other devices on the network are OK, this step can still help.


If the issue persists, move onto the steps from the next two links. These will guide you through checking for possible causes of interference and configuring your Wi-Fi router with the best possible settings.

Resolve Wi-Fi and Bluetooth issues caused by wireless interference

Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points


We'd also recommend testing on a different Wi-Fi network as this will help isolate the issue.
