iMac 09 new drive?

I have a 09 iMac 27" and the internal hard drive is failing. I bought a new one, installed it and when I turn it on, I keep see a folder with a question mark in the middle flashing. I couldn't do anything. Can someone help me with this issue? thanks in advance.
